The Collins Hill defense kept the score at 0-0 throughout the 1st period
Eagles vs Eagles: In single A ice hockey, the Milton Eagles defeated the Collins Hill Eagles 6 to 1 at the MIC on Sunday.
The Milton Eagles outplayed, outskated and outlasted the Collins Hill Eagles Sunday night at the MIC, winning 6 goals to 1.
Collins Hill’s skaters held their own in the scoreless first period, with the team’s defense and goalie Erik Nilsson performing miracles. But early in the 2nd, Milton scored two quick goals and the game turned around. By the end of the period, Milton managed one additional goal to make it 3-0 going into the 3rd.
With less than 4 minutes to play in the 3rd, Milton was up 6-0 but couldn’t stay out of the penalty box. Skating a 4-on-3 power play, Milton goalie Matthew Gray was denied the shut out as the Collins Hill Eagles scored. Both teams fought hard until the final seconds, leaving everything on the ice.
